Members of the European Parliament
The Members of the European Parliament are elected by direct popular vote every five years. Each member state has the right to send their representatives to the European Parliament.
At present, Finland has 13 representatives in the Parliament.
In Finland, the members of parliament are called ‘meppi’. The name that comes from the English word MEP (short for Member of the European Parliament).
